Volunteers supporting aid organizations are willing to give their time, energy, and money—but not only that. Sometimes, by becoming honorary blood donors, they share what is most precious. Maryia spoke to us about the importance of such donations.
Some students already had personal experience in helping those in need and were eager to share their impressions. Lulu talked about organizing leisure activities and attractions for children from an orphanage, Andrzej about helping war veterans, Vlad about supporting Ukrainian soldiers on the front by preparing candles, camouflage nets, and building drones, and Nga from Vietnam about preparing food for homeless people in Warsaw.
There were also touching memories from Igor, who, as a beneficiary of such aid, spoke about Polish volunteers—silent heroes—who, after the outbreak of the Russian-Ukrainian war, became involved in helping refugees in Poland. Natalia, on the other hand, introduced us to the profiles of Poles whose activities support soldiers and their families in Ukraine. Their efforts have been recognized and honored by the Ukrainian authorities.
The recipients of charitable actions are not only people. Our smaller brothers—animals—also need our help. Anna and Polina told us about the initiatives of organizations working for animal welfare and shared their own experiences.
Everyone agreed that volunteering is not only about helping others—it is also an investment in personal growth. It fosters a sense of community, solidarity, builds character, teaches empathy, and helps one become the best version of themselves.
