Recenzje:

The monograph addresses the issue of income inequality and the role of the state (particularly fiscal policy) in mitigating it. The author situates the topic both within the theoretical discourse (covering positive and normative approaches to inequality) and in the discussion of the socio-economic consequences of rising disparities. She emphasizes, among other points, that excessive inequalities may undermine economic stability and social cohesion. The monograph aims to identify the relationships between selected economic, socio-political, and demographic variables and inequality, analyze trends in selected countries, and discuss redistributive instruments and their links to inequality.

Although the topic is not new, it remains highly relevant due to the scarcity of research, inconsistencies in existing findings, the diversity and variability of conditions, and the multiplicity of theoretical approaches. Developing an effective and efficient fiscal policy aimed at proper income redistribution and reducing inequality in this area is an extremely challenging task. It is a long-term process that requires continuous monitoring and numerous adjustments to establish an appropriate distribution mechanism and to consider multiple criteria essential for formulating sound policy in this regard.
