The monograph devoted to the issue of greenwashing examines a phenomenon which, despite the absence of a single legal definition, is subject to increasingly extensive legal regulation. The publication discusses the obligations of business operators arising from ESG regulations, in particular with regard to the offering and promotion of “green products”. The authors demonstrate how marketing content should be properly formulated and how products should be labelled in order to avoid allegations of misleading consumers. The monograph explains when greenwashing practices may be classified as unfair commercial practices and what sanctions, under both EU and national law, may be imposed on business operators who infringe consumer interests.
