Ambiguous conclusions

On 22 April 2026 students of the Faculty of Medicine gathered for the sixth time to participate in the Round Table Debate. This time the subject matter was "aggressive medical treatment", in other words, medical procedures which no longer correspond to the real situation of the patient, either because they are by now disproportionate to any expected results or because they impose an excessive burden on the patient and his family.

The debate started in a calm and organised manner with both sides being extremely polite and cautious with their arguments but later on things started taking a turn. As the emotions, beliefs and individual experiences commenced to take over, discussion became more heated. Fortunately at the end of the debate both teams found common ground and were able to shake hands with respect and dignity in the atmosphere of mutual understanding although conclusions remain ambiguous...
