The Academic Centre for Teaching Excellence began its activities on 1 July 2026. Its establishment reflects Lazarski University’s commitment to creating an educational environment based on evidence-based practice, modern teaching methods and consistent standards across all faculties and degree programmes.

The Centre’s key responsibilities will include developing standards for teaching and core elements of academic programmes, modernising asynchronous learning and expanding the University’s micro-credential offer. Another important area of its work will be initiatives aimed at developing students’ psychological, technological and digital competencies, including those related to the use of artificial intelligence.

The Centre will also support academic staff through training and professional development modules designed to enhance their teaching practice. These initiatives will be complemented by the development of a consistent tutoring model and workshops designed to help students organise their learning more effectively.

The new unit will be headed by Martin Dahl, PhD, Professor at Lazarski University. As Director of the Academic Centre for Teaching Excellence, he will be responsible for coordinating its activities and implementing initiatives aimed at further enhancing teaching standards across Lazarski University.

The establishment of the Centre responds to the changing landscape of higher education – including new ways of acquiring knowledge, the growing role of digital technologies and artificial intelligence, and labour market expectations for specific, demonstrable competencies.
