Ius Novum (ISSN 1897-5577, online ISSN 2545-0271) is a quarterly academic journal of the Faculty of Law and Administration of Lazarski University. It has been published continuously since 2007 and presents scholarly works in the field of legal sciences, primarily from countries of Central and Eastern Europe. Its thematic scope covers the core branches of law, in particular constitutional, financial, commercial, and international law, as well as civil, criminal, and administrative law and procedure.
The aim of Ius Novum is to create a modern platform for the exchange and confrontation of views within the legal academic community by disseminating the results of scientific research at both national and international levels, taking into account the impact of legal sciences on the socio-economic environment of Central and Eastern European countries.
The journal publishes original scholarly works of high value for both academics and legal practitioners, intended to engage not only the domestic but also the international academic community. Its pages feature analyses of binding legal solutions, forecasts of development trends in individual branches of law, legal assessments of emerging social phenomena, evaluations of the quality of law-making and its application, as well as the results of empirical research of significant social relevance.
“We are delighted and proud that our journal has been indexed in the Scopus database. This is the strongest confirmation of the high academic quality of the published works and proof that the journal meets international standards of rigorous peer review, transparency, and editorial responsibility, regardless of local evaluation systems,” said Aleksandra Szudrowicz, Head of the Publishing Office of Lazarski University. “The Scopus selection process is multi-stage and highly rigorous, so a positive outcome primarily confirms the high quality of editorial procedures and the substantive value of the published content.”
“This achievement gives us great satisfaction and confirms the efforts of many individuals — authors who submitted articles of high scholarly value and reviewers who set high standards for publications. As a result, the achievements of Polish legal scholars can gain greater visibility and recognition in the international academic space. This distinction is also a commitment for us to further develop the journal and consistently raise the quality of the published content,” said Prof. Ryszard Stefański, Editor-in-Chief of Ius Novum.
The journal is open not only to the academic and teaching staff of Lazarski University, but also to scholars from other academic institutions operating within the international scholarly community.
