The Publishing House of Lazarski University has published a peer-reviewed monograph titled Prezydenci USA w „sytuacjach granicznych” – perspektywa historyczna i prawna (U.S. Presidents in “Critical Situations” – A Historical and Legal Perspective) by Artur W. Wróblewski (Faculty of Economics and Management).
The monograph is an extensive study devoted to the institution of the presidency in the United States, analyzed in the context of critical junctures that have shaped the American political and legal system. The author presents the development of the constitutional model of executive power, highlighting the importance of presidential decisions and the role of the Supreme Court in maintaining the balance between the branches of government.
Combining historical, legal, and political perspectives, the publication portrays the American presidency as a dynamic institution responding to social and political change. It demonstrates that in times of crisis – from internal conflicts to global challenges – the flexibility of constitutional principles and the strength of legal institutions have been crucial in preserving the stability of American democracy.
The book is a valuable contribution to Polish scholarship on the U.S. system of government and encourages reflection on the role of constitutional law in contemporary democracies. It will be of interest to researchers in law and political science, students, and anyone seeking a deeper understanding of the mechanisms of power in a modern democratic state.
