- The University maintains records of the scientific publications of its employees and lecturers, hereinafter referred to as Authors. This documentation is made available in the form of a database using the library system in use. The main, but not exclusive, use of this documentation is to feed the Polish Scientific Bibliography, as well as reports and speeches addressed to the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, the State Accreditation Commission, the Commission for the Evaluation of Science, etc.
- The fact of publication consists in the availability of a given work in its final editorial form, online or in print, or in print-on-demand (print-on-demand or similar solutions). For printed publications, there should be an indication of where they are available for purchase, or the mode of obtaining print-on-demand. The usual criterion for the availability of a publication is also its presence in the library collection. (The University may waive the requirement that this condition be met at the time of data preparation if the publication has appeared recently.)
- The bibliographic data are collected and processed by the University Library. They relate to individual published works, such as books, chapters in books, articles in journals, reports, expert reports, etc., at least one of whose authors and/or editors is an employee of Lazarski University. These records can be seen in a separate list in the online catalog, and can also be searched in the catalog according to the usual criteria.
- The library produces, based on the records in the library system, a Publication List, available in the relevant section on the University's website. The list has informational and marketing significance, and can also be used for print publication.
- The Information Center retrieves bibliographic data in an agreed manner for further processing and export.
- The Library collects data on an ongoing basis and prepares it for further processing according to deadlines agreed with the Personal Affairs Department. The reconciliation mentions (a) the last day of data collection and (b) the day on which the data are to be ready for further processing, carried out in the Information Center. Materials submitted after the expiration of this date shall proceed to preparation in the next period.
- The sources of data referred to in item 6 are:
a) the Library's book collections (for books as a whole and chapters)
b) the content of journals and books published by the Lazarski University Publishing Office
c) information on other publications, provided by the Authors. - It is the responsibility of the Authors to provide the original or copies of publications that do not meet condition (a) or (b) to the Library for registration, and for all publications - a statement for the purposes of parametric evaluation according to the attached template. The Library accepts the material, having established its completeness, and performs a bibliographic description for the database referred to in paragraph 3, confronting the information provided by the Author with a complete and reliable bibliographic record (e.g., Google Scholar, BZCz, BazEkon, SCOPUS, Web of Science, library catalogs, etc.), or a record in a full-text database (ScienceDirect, Wiley Online Library, portals of individual journals, etc.).).
- Author provides at least the pages necessary for the bibliographic description and registration of the publication in the Polish Scientific Bibliography (i.e., cover, title page, editorial page, complete table of contents, pages allowing the volume of the text - in the case of a chapter in a collective work, both the whole book and the chapter - pages containing information about the author's affiliation). He/she may also provide the Library with a copy/copy of the entire publication for inclusion in the collection.
- Prints/photocopies of publications donated by Authors and single issues of journals containing articles authored by Lazarski University staff will be made available for presentation in the Reading Room of the University Library.
- Affiliation is understood as the place of work of the Author or the source of funding for his/her work, declared unambiguously in the text of the work or in the book or journal in the pages of which the work appeared. A typical statement of affiliation is the mention of the University's name next to the author's name, in a footnote or in the notes about the authors. If the publication mentions more than one affiliation or none at all, the attached statement is considered the basis for counting the publication as part of Lazarski University's output. If, on the other hand, only the name(s) of another/other scientific institution(s) is indicated in the text, such work will not be accepted for registration.
