TOLES - Test Of Legal English Skills

TOLES is a prestigious exam that verifies your knowledge of general and legal English. With TOLES certificates, you have in your hand a document recognised by the world's major legal firms and a proof of qualifications useful in following a career in law.

TOLES exams give you a chance to improve your language skills, ranging from learning basic terminology to reading and drafting specialised documents.

The Foreign Language Centre is a TOLES examination centre and the organiser of preparatory courses.

TOLES is offered at three levels:

• TOLES Foundation (A2-B1)
• TOLES Higher (B1-B2); TOLES Higher exempts from the final exam ending the English course.
• TOLES Advanced (B2-C2)  

TOLES Exam Format

Since 2022, TOLES exams are conducted exclusively online! Additionally, some types of exercises have been modified to make the exam more user-friendly on the online platform.

Exam sessions at Lazarski University in the academic year 2025/2026:

May 21 2026 / registration and payment from 30 March to April 19 2026

Registration for 2026 will start 30 March!

Registration for the TOLES Legal exam, scheduled for May 21, 2026, will be open from 30 March to 19 April, 2026. The exam will be conducted at three levels: Foundation, Higher and Advanced. Send your application to the address jezyki.obce@lazarski.edu.pl. 

Don't forget to provide the following details:

• first name and last name
• album number (only for Lazarski students)
• e-mail address (the address will be forwarded to TOLES Legal and will be used for communication regarding the exam)
• exam level

In response to the application, you will receive an account number to which you should transfer the exam fee by April 19 and send a confirmation of payment.

Students taking the TOLES exam will go through a simple online process: creating a SYNAP account, installing the Rosalyn invigilation software, and logging in on exam day to complete security checks before starting. The exam is taken entirely online, with clear rules to follow during the test.

The examination fee in PLN
