“Migrants: Elmi Abdi’s Voice”
We invite the academic community to a special screening of a fragment of the acclaimed documentary series “Migrants.” We will take a closer look at the story of Elmi Abdi — a man whose journey has moved thousands of viewers.
After the screening, we invite you to a moderated conversation with the film’s creator, Bartosz Wróblewski, and its protagonist, Elmi Abdi. The discussion will be led by SJO lecturer and cinema enthusiast — Przemysław Cygan. We will discover the behind-the-scenes process of creating Elmi’s story. We will talk about courage, the search for one’s place in the world, and how film can become a voice for those who often go unheard. We will learn why the story presented in the documentary is so important for understanding today’s world.
After the screening and moderated discussion, the floor is yours!
Join us for an open discussion forum and Q&A session. This is your opportunity to ask anything you’re curious about and share your reflections.
Don’t just be a spectator — become part of the conversation about the world.
