The Publishing House of the Lazarski University has published an open-access, peer-reviewed monograph titled „Węzłowe problemy jawności w społeczeństwie informacyjnym” (Key Issues of Transparency in the Information Society) edited by dr hab. Grzegorz Sibiga, prof. INP PAN and prof. dr hab. Przemysław Szustakiewicz (Faculty of Law and Administration of Lazarski Unversity).

The monograph explores the issue of transparency in public life and access to information in a democratic state governed by the rule of law. The authors examine to what extent current legal regulations truly guarantee the openness of government activities, even though state authorities inherently hold a monopoly on collecting and managing public data.

The topic is highly relevant today – at a time when information is becoming one of the most valuable resources, transparency helps limit state power and strengthen public trust. Open access to information reduces the perception of backroom decision-making and serves as a cornerstone of civil society.

This book is intended for scholars and practitioners of information law, as well as legal counsel and other professionals involved in providing or obtaining public data. It is also a valuable supplementary reading for law and public administration students attending courses on information law.
