Should harvesting organs from the deceased person be legally possible without a permission of their family?

You are kindly invited to participate in the fifth Round Table Debate of the Lazarski University. It is a new form of a debate during which we are going to discuss controversial topics concerning medicine. Such a formula will allow for a more spontaneous expression than in the case of more formal rules of Oxford debates.

We all remember the situation that happened a few years ago when there was a serious breakdown in transplantology, mainly because of social, political and religious reasons. The list of people waiting for the transplant got longer and longer and, unfortunately many patients did not last long enough to be served. In order not to allow for the similar situation in the future, the government might consider a possibility of post mortem duty of donation.

If you are interested in the topic, you are welcomed to participate and speak your mind during the Round Table Debate which will take place on the 21 May 2025 at 8.30 am in room 58.
