How Americans Elect Their President

US Economy and Transatlantic Relations Institute hosted Dr. Joshua Tucker for a guest lecture titled: "How Americans elect their President". The lecture was attended by students and faculty of Lazarski University and examined the workings of the Electoral College and issues related to presidential elections.

Joshua Tucker is a professor of politics at New York University (NYU). Professor Tucker received his MA and PhD in political science from Harvard University, and currently specializes in comparative politics with an emphasis on mass political behavior in East-Central Europe and the former Soviet Union, including elections and voting, the development of partisan attachment, public opinion formation, and mass protest. His work has appeared in numerous academic journals, including the American Journal of Political Science, British Journal of Politics, Comparative Politics, Comparative Political Studies, the Journal of Politics, and Studia Polityczne, and his opinions have been published in The New Republic, The Wall Street Journal, Al Jazeera English, and the International Herald Tribune.
