Medical Exchange Programme

As part of the international cooperation, medical students have the opportunity to undergo foreign internships in selected scientific and clinical centers.

§ 1

Recruitment of students is carried out by a Commission composed of:

  • Dean of the Faculty of Medicine
  • Dean of the Faculty of Medicine for International Cooperation
  • Dean of the Faculty of Medicine for Student Affairs
  • Dean of the Faculty of Medicine for Student Affairs
  • Dean of the Faculty of Medicine for Organizational Affairs
  • Dean of the Faculty of Medicine for Student Affairs. Organizational Affairs
  • § 2

    Requirements for participation in the didactic (internship) program are as follows:

    1. passing the first year of study;
    2. minimum final year grade point average of 3.5;
    3. knowledge of the language of the host institution or fluency in English;
    4. students in their final year of study may participate in the program (internship) upon approval of the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine;
    5. the duration of the internship is from 1 to 4 weeks.

    § 3

    1. Students applying for the internship trip should:
      1. submit a paper application to the Dean's Office, an electronic application to: erasmus.wm@lazarski.pl
      2. attach to the application the relevant certifications and documents regarding the additional recruitment criteria referred to in § 5, para. 3.
    2. Application on the template available on the website of the Faculty of Medicine must be submitted by March 1 of each year.

    § 4

    1. The basis for the student's qualification is the sum of points received for:
      1. average grades obtained for the year of study preceding the trip,
      2. examination in a language, conducted by the Study of Foreign Languages. Applicants with a foreign language exam at the C1 level or equivalent are exempt from the exam on the basis of a certificate recognized by the Study of Foreign Languages,
      3. presentation of the objectives of the internship before the dean and vice dean for academic affairs and international cooperation,
      4. documented recruitment criteria referred to in § 5, para. 3.
    2. 2. On the basis of the submitted documents referred to in § 3, para. 1, the committee shall draw up a list of candidates for participation in the program according to the sum of points obtained.
    3. 3. In the event of an equal number of points, the order on the list of candidates shall be determined by the average score obtained for the period of study.

    § 5

    For the calculation of the sum of points referred to in § 4, pt. 1, the following scoring rules shall apply:

    1. additional selection criteria:
      1. active activity in Student Scientific Circles confirmed by the Supervisor of the Scientific Circle (regardless of the number of scientific circles) - 1 point,
      2. papers presented at international conferences or published in the materials of these conferences - 2 points for each,
      3. papers presented at national conferences or published in the materials of these conferences - 1 point for each,
      4. papers published in scientific journals without Impact Factor - 1 point for each,
      5. work published in scientific journals that have an Impact Factor - 2 points for each,
      6. awards received during the course of study - ministerial awards, rector's awards, as well as honors and distinctions of the University - 1 point for each,
      7. foreign summer internships, foreign courses and professional training - 1 point for each,
      8. presentation of internship objectives before the dean and vice dean for academic affairs and international cooperation - 0-5 points for each. scientific and international cooperation - 0-5 points.
