Director of the Scientific Center
According to the decision of the Council of the Scientific Center of the ISP of the Polish Academy of Sciences and Lazarski University dated November 12, 2012, Dr. Pawel Olszewski became the Head of the Scientific Center, with a term of three years (2012-2015).
TASKS OF THE SCIENTIFIC CENTER OF THE ISP of the Polish Academy of Sciences and Lazarski University
According to Art. 1 of the Agreement of October 1, 2012 between Lazarski University in Warsaw and the Institute of Political Studies of the Polish Academy of Sciences on the establishment of the Scientific Center, the tasks of the Center include in particular:
- conducting, supporting and coordinating scientific research and improving didactic processes;
- developing direct relations between science, basic research and didactics and raising to a higher level the quality of education of students in the field of: International Relations, as well as postgraduate students and doctoral students;
- initiating and coordinating the participation of Lazarski University in Warsaw and the Institute of Political Studies of the Polish Academy of Sciences in national and international research programs;
- taking scientific and research initiatives (conferences, seminars and scientific symposia) and didactic initiatives to improve the quality of education of students, postgraduate students and doctoral students;
- supporting the activity and mobility of research staff;
- obtaining and handling research projects: national and international, including those financed by the National Science Center and the European Commission within the framework of the Seventh Framework Program of the European Union;
- conducting expert and advisory activities in the field of political issues and international affairs;
- publishing scientific periodicals and scientific studies;
- providing access to library collections and scientific and teaching facilities on a reciprocal basis;
- cooperating for the Scientific Center to obtain the status of a National Scientific Leading Center in the field of social sciences.
