On 16 October 2019, we set out on an unusual linguistic journey around the world. On The Day of Languages, we shared dreams about future journeys and reflections on those in the past. We also know one thing: voyages to unknown places are more interesting and pleasant if we can communicate in a local language!
In accordance with the Lazarski University president's decision Ms Anna Zielińska was appointed the new director (from Oct. 1, 2019) of the University Library. She has worked with us since 1998, previously as vice director (since 2019) and systems librarian (since 2009 ).
Travelling and foreign languages go together. Do you dream about travelling to more or less remote places and getting to know the world? Only the knowledge of foreign languages may let you absorb all information in another country. Stake everything on education this autumn and don’t waste time so that you can spend your next holiday on a journey of your life! Foreign Language Centre is inviting you to the Day of Languages “Around the World with Foreign Languages” on 16 October 2019.
The Library has been left by Henryk Hollender, its director since 2008.
During the recent inauguration ceremony of the academic year our school hosted Andrzej Duda, President of the Republic of Poland. The President first laid a wreath at the plaque commemorating the university’s founder Ryszard Łazarski, a Warsaw Uprising insurgent from the Home Army’s “Baszta” regiment, and subsequently participated in a meeting with the school’s authorities. President Duda also visited the facilities of the Centre for Basic and Pre-Clinical Sciences at the Faculty of Medicine. After that he took part in the opening ceremony of the new academic year, where he held a speech.
