Human health is inextricably linked to climate change. Rising temperatures and poor air quality due to pollution, increase health care costs and the risk of spreading infectious diseases. Recent studies show a link between air pollution and deaths associated with the COVID-19 pandemic, and unless rapid regulatory measures are implemented at the global and national levels, five new pandemic diseases will emerge each year. Add to this that the global health sector accounts for 4.4% of global emissions. If health care were a country, it would be the fifth largest emitter of greenhouse gases in the world.

The Warsaw Health Care Summit is an international interdisciplinary event promoting the sustainability of health care. The meeting serves to promote knowledge in environmental protection, ecology, safe pharmacy, green procurement and supply for the health sector, medical law, sustainable development of the medical workforce, new technologies, and the use of artificial intelligence in the management of health care facilities.
