We got to know the profiles and works of Ryszard Kapuściński, Mariusz Szczygieł, and Tomasz Sekielski. We watched a presentation about the founder of our university, Ryszard Łazarski, and listened to interviews with lecturers who reminisced about the pioneering times and the beginnings of their work at the university. The topic of multiculturalism was also covered, along with a film about the life of Łazarski students. A particularly moving part of the program was a reportage dedicated to Polish war correspondents, who report on the war in Ukraine with dedication and commitment.
Two students decided to tell the story of an extraordinary city Gdynia, about which Grzegorz Piątek wrote a book. They went to Gdynia specifically to shoot a video report about it. They approached people on the streets to find out how they remember their city, how it has changed over the years, and what significance its location by the Baltic Sea holds for it and its residents.
Another presentation focused on the book by Maciej Zaremba Bielawski. It discussed immigrants stories and the attitudes of Sweden and Western European countries towards cheap labor symbolized by the "Polish plumber."
In addition to serious and difficult topics, there were also lighter ones, such as the history of graffiti or a humorous report from the streets of Warsaw, dedicated to the moods of the city's residents.
Reportages have always been and continue to be an important source of knowledge about the world. Our students have proven this! It was a laborious, time-consuming, and thorough effort, but it paid off! THE RESULTS WERE STUNNING! What we saw and learned will remain in our memory.
BRAVO FRESHMEN! GREAT JOB!
