This course is addressed to foreigners who wish to take up studies at Lazarski University next academic year and devote the current academic year to learning English.
The purpose of the course is to prepare the participants to pursue studies in English. The course focuses on all language skills (listening comprehension, reading comprehension, grammar, speaking and writing). The first part of the course is aimed at teaching the participants to use English in everyday situations. The second part of the course involves a gradual introduction of terminology connected with the selected university major - that is necessary to understand lectures and take an active part in classes.
WHAT SKILLS AND INFORMATION WILL YOU GAIN?
The course places main stress on acquiring the skill of correct speaking as well as listening and reading comprehension of simple academic texts. It also includes classes in writing and drafting various short written forms.
Starting with the second term, course participants may attend selected lectures in their university courses as guest students.
Handbooks, additional materials and the teaching methods have all been tailored to prepare the participants to take the IELTS exam.
The course also offers workshops in soft skills, such as negotiations, collaboration and acceptance-refusal, which are organised cyclically twice a month.
The course is conducted by qualified and experienced teachers of English.
The course ends with a progress test conducted at Lazarski University or with taking IELTS at one of Warsaw exam centres. If a participant does not achieve the B2 language skill level required to take up studies, we are offering a two-month English course.

"I'm a student of English course from one year ago and right now I would like to tell something about the course. Actually, the course is a useful program to improve the knowledge about listening, speaking, reading and writing for each student before study bachelor. Right as that! When I began study here, for me everything was so new and not in order and I needed arrangement with the system. Finally, I could do it with help of friendly teachers, they helped so much from the start to finish, I feel happy about it. I hope this course will be attractive for a lot of new students, you need and should experience it. Lazarski University always welcomes all of you and I'm so proud to be a student here". Linh Thi My Tran from Vietnam
"The English course was very effective and helpful to me. My English improved through these classes. My English listening and speaking skills improved. Before I took the course, I haven't made more presentations in English so I did not have any confidence that I can present in 10 minutes. But after I experienced through 3 presentations in class, I got more confident about my speaking skill in English. I spoke English everyday with teachers and classmates. I think this class was helpful to improve my English ability. I also think my English writing today is much better and I have much more confidence in writing. Each teacher is very friendly and enthusiastic. They helped me with a lot of things to improve my skills. Thank you so much". Minh Thao Doan from Vietnam
