A necessary renovation of the ventillation system in sector F is expected to start on June 18, 2018.  On the level 1 (one level higher than ground, that is), in the Reading Room and the Circulation Department, air condition units will be installed. It means that in the summer, perhaps until middle September,  a major part of library collections will become inaccessible, and services – limited to a minimal number.   This project will bring about a substantial improvement of working conditions at the Library, especially on warm days, a new carpet, and when it comes to public service – some new procedures.

Please pay attention to our communications (Web site, Facebook, posters), which will first of all pertain to access and lending rules. What is most important is that we are facing a rapid closing of the Reading Room as your place of work  (June 18). Even earlier, on June 8, we will start lending open stacks items; moreover – you will be able to order them online, which has not been practiced earlier. Dear Reader, please think twice, what materials from the Reading Room you might need in the summer, and contact us. On July 2 we will basically lose access to our Reading Room collections (no further lending, alas) but the other books (and bound journals) held at the Circulation Department and in the Store will keep being  fetched to you upon ordering. We will be able to hand them to you on Mondays, when we also be present for reference service and issuing of library clearance certificates. So please be advised that you are still welcome at the Library. And a new temporary Library entrance from the sector E will be arranged.
