As decided by the rector, since the academic year 2017/18 newly admitted students are obliged
to complete their library orientation. It precedes the account activation and the first borrowing of a book or a periodical with the use of the library computer system. This year, library orientation for full-time students means a short meeting held at the Library (schedule below). Part-time students will only be introduced into principles of library materials circulation during their account activation by the circulation desk librarian. These students, however, are also free to attend one
of the library orientation meetings.
Immediately after matriculation, all holders of the electronic student ID are automatically becoming the Library members. They can use its collections and services on-site and get assistance and explanations from librarians. On the other hand, the library orientation is intended to familiarize you with the practice of computer-mediated search for information and texts
at the Library and beyond, and to give you a short review of processing and producing information, as basic to student in her/his work.
Library orientation sessions start on October 1, 2018, without registration (“served as you come”), on dates:
• Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays , 8:30 - 9:15.
• From October 8, also: Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, 16:30 -17: 15.
Note: only trainings on Tuesdays and Fridays in the morning and on Wednesday afternoons are held in English.
The participants are asked to meet in front of the Library entrance, sector F, first floor (level two, that is).
Medical students are not subject to training as they have a Library Training course in the Fall semester.
