  • Vice-Rector Jerzy Stępień receives the Michał Kulesza Republic of Poland Foundations Award for his contribution to strengthening local governments in Poland.
  • Assistant Professor Aleksandra Laskowska-Rutkowska, PhD habil., is appointed member of the Programme Committee of the 12th International Logistics and Supply Chain Congress "Supply Chains of the Future" in Istanbul. At the Congress, she also presents a paper on "Innovation Diffusion in the Supply Chain".
  • Magdalena Rycak, PhD, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Law and Administration, is appointed by the Chairman of the Council of Europe deputy judge of the Administrative Tribunal of the Council of Europe until 31 March 2015.
  • Przemysław Szustakiewicz, PhD habil., Faculty of Law and Administration lecturer, is appointed member of the committee holding qualification proceedings for candidates to the National Appeals Chamber cooperating with the President of the Public Procurement Office.
  • Mieczysław Błoński, PhD, Dean of the Faculty of Law and Administration, is appointed Vice President of the Board of the Polish Association of Private Employers in Education..
  • Monika Stachowiak-Kudła, PhD, delivers a paper on: "Financial regulations and the diversification of funding sources in Higher education institutions: Selected European experiences" during the 31st Conference of the European Association of Law and Economics (EALE).
  • Małgorzata Gałązka-Sobotka, PhD, Head of the Centre for Postgraduate Education, nominated in the "Women in Medicine 2014" competition.
  • Ewelina Milan, MA, assistant lecturer at the Department of Civil Law and Procedure of the Faculty of Law and Administration, is awarded the Bronze Cross of Merit for her contribution to the development of science by the Minister of Science and Higher Education. Ms Milan also assumed the second place in the "Entrepreneurial School of Tomorrow" competition (Labour Market category) organised by Mana Game.
  • Paweł Blajer, MA, Faculty of Law and Administration lecturer, is nominated to the Student Journalism Award MediaTory 2014 in the Initiator category and to Grand Press Economy 2014.
  • Juliusz Madej, President of the Lazarski University, wins the first place in the International Seniors Polish Tennis Championships (55+ category, doubles). He also assumes the third place in singles.

  • Marta Bany, Faculty of Law and Administration graduate, receives a distinction in competition for the best graduation dissertation organised by the Economic Surveyors Association.
  • Daryna Brazhnyk, graduate of BA studies at the Faculty of Economics and Management, wins the second place in competition for undergraduate dissertations organised by the Center For Economic Research & Graduate Education - Economics Institute (Cerge-EI), one of the best economic academies in Europe.
  • Mayia Samuilik, Faculty of Economics and Management graduate, wins the 4th place in the international competition for the best undergraduate dissertation in the world, organised by the International Economic Atlantic Society.
  • Karolina Sochacka, student of the Faculty of Law and Administration, receives a diploma of the Academy of Young Diplomats at the European Academy of Diplomacy.
  • Katarzyna Anna Przybyła, Faculty of Economics and Management graduate, receives the prestigious Fulbright Graduate Student Award which will allow her to pursue her studies in the USA.
  • Michał Rostek, International Relations student, fashion model, dancer and choreographer, represents Poland at the MR WORLD 2014 competition.
  • Dżianis Ihnatok, second-year student of International Relations, wins the gold medal at the International Tournament "Sambo-Germaniade" in Berlin. Sambo is a Russian martial art that combines judo with regional varieties of wrestling encountered in the former USSR.
  • Łukasz Kiełbasiński wins the silver medal at the Junior European Judo Cup in Wrocław.
  • Tomasz Rudko and Michał Wojtyński win the 5th place in the Basketball 3x3 World Championship in Moscow.

  • 2nd place  of the Faculty of Law among law faculties of private universities with the highest pupilage exam pass rate among the graduates of private universities in the ranking of "Dziennik Gazeta Prawna",
  • 4th place among private universities with second-cycle undergraduate studies licensed to award doctoral degrees and 2nd place in the "Internationalisation" category in the ranking of "Perspektywy" and "Rzeczpospolita",

  • Judge Jerzy Stępień, Deputy Dean of the Lazarski University, receives the Teresa Torańska Newsweek Award "for courage in public activity".
  • Przemysław Szustakiewicz, PhD habil., Faculty of Law and Administration lecturer, is appointed member of the committee holding qualification proceedings for candidates to the National Appeals Chamber, cooperating with the President of the Public Procurement Office.
  • Mieczysław Błoński, PhD, Dean of the Faculty of Law and Administration, is appointed Vice Chairman of the Board, and  Andrzej Kondratowicz, PhD and Mr Marian Wargacki are appointed Board Members of the Polish Economic Society.
  • Jacek Oleksiejuk, PhD, lecturer at the Department of International Economic Relations, is appointed member of the Expert Team in the Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences Panel to assess applications for financing research projects submitted in competitions held by the  National Science Centre.
  • Anna Konert, PhD, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Law and Administration, represents Poland during the 25th European Air Law Association (EALA) Conference in Madrid.
  • Spasimir Domaradzki, PhD, senior lecturer at the Institute of Civic Space and Public Policy, is invited to participate in the second edition of the Presidential Expert Programme and cooperate with the Chancellery of the President of the Republic of Poland.
  • Ewelina Milan, MA, assistant lecturer at the Department of Civil Law and Procedure of the Faculty of Law and Administration, is awarded the Bronze Cross of Merit for her contribution to the development of science by the Minister of Science and Higher Education.
  • Mateusz Dróżdż, MA, lecturer at the Faculty of Law and Administration, is appointed to a group of international sports law experts at the Centre for International Sport Law at Staffordshire University.

Achievements of our students and alumni

  • Tomasz Dąbrowski wins the 2nd Degree Award in the habilitation and doctoral dissertation category in the 9th edition of the Best Research Paper on Cooperatives Competition, organised by the National Cooperative Council.
  • Szymon Balcerzak, student of the Faculty of Law and Administration, wins the National Law Games Competition organised by the European Law Students Association ELSA Poland and the Wierzbowski Eversheds law firm. The competition award is an internship with Wierzbowski Eversheds.
  • Three of our alumni receive awards in the Rising Stars Lawyers - Leaders of Tomorrow 2013 ranking by "Dziennik Gazeta Prawna":
    • Russian Law School graduate Milena Bogdanowicz wins the 1st place,
    • Faculty of Law and Administration graduate Michał Paprocki assumes the 18th place,
    • Mateusz Dróżdż, our alum, doctoral student and assistant lecturer at the Department of Business Law of the Faculty of Law and Administration as well as the youngest among the 30 winners, is qualified at the 23rd position.
  • Two participants of the prestigious International Legal Skills programme Monika Ziobro and Olga Korgunyk are accepted for internship with international law firms Dentons and Miller Canfield.
  • Karolina Sochacka, student of the Faculty of Law and Administration, receives a diploma of the Academy of Young Diplomats at the European Academy of Diplomacy.

Faculty distinctions

  • Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Law and Administration judge Jerzy Stępień is appointed chairman of the Jury of the "Pro Publico Bono" Award established by Prime Minister Jerzy Buzek in 1999.
  • Przemysław Szustakiewicz, PhD, Head of the Department of Public Procurement Studies, receives his habilitation in jurisprudence in the field of law under a resolution of the Faculty of Law and Administration Board of Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań.
  • Anna Konert, PhD, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Law and Administration, wins the scholarship competition held by the Minister of Science and Higher Education. She is also granted membership of the prestigious "SOS Catastrophes European Network of Disaster Victims" in Paris.
  • Mateusz Dróżdż, MA, lecturer at the Faculty of Law and Administration, is awarded a distinction in the "Pro Bono Lawyer" competition organised by the "Rzeczpospolita" daily. He is also appointed member of the permanent Expert Group of the Mass Event Security Council, established by Prime Minister Donald Tusk.

Achievements of our students and alumni

  • Julian Rotter, Faculty of Law and Administration student, becomes a member of the International Nuclear Law Association (INLA). He receives the scholarship of the Minister of Science and Higher Education and, as the first student from Poland, the OECD scholarship.
  • Tomasz Świtalski, student at the Faculty of Law and Administration, takes part in the Advanced Science Course in Vienna.
  • Rafał Dąbrowski, student at the Faculty of Law and Administration, is named laureate in the 17th edition of the "Grasz o staż" competition organised by PwC and "Gazeta Wyborcza". As a result, he wins an internship with Polskie Górnictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo SA.
  • Szymon Balcerzak, student at the Faculty of Law and Administration, wins the national Law Gamet Competition.
  • Two of our alumni are awarded a distinction for their MA dissertations in forensics in the 13th edition of Professor Tadeusz Hanausek Competition organised by the Forensic Association of Poland.
