International Relations is one of the world’s most popular and fastest growing areas of multidisciplinary social science studies on all levels, and is an ideal field of study for people who are curious about the world and who wish to exert an influence on the social and political realities of global affairs. We designed our BA in International Relations to introduce you to the basics of global and regional politics. Primarily, it will give you the solid intellectual background to understand major themes and problems related to politics, including concepts like: power, state, sovereignty, justice, law or, more generally, history of Western civilization.
We believe that you will be able to better understand and get involved in social and political activities when being confronted with the canon of political thinkers, as well as with history, economy and law. After the first 3 semesters of challenging yourself with the fundamentals of politics, you will enjoy opportunities to pursue your more individualized interests in the 4th and 6th semesters. You will be able to choose from a wide range of elective courses covering various contemporary issues in European, Post-Soviet and American politics, media, terrorism or human rights. You could also choose to get some international experience by applying for the Erasmus+ student exchange during the 4th semester. The last two semesters are focused on the more practical implementation of the previously acquired basics of politics and will be complementary to your choices of individualised interests within elective courses. You will be able to practice your skills related
to foreign policy, international organizations and intercultural communication in the international environment.
You can begin your education with bachelor’s studies and then pursue a master’s degree offered at Łazarski University.
